College essentials for your wardrobe:

College Fashion 101: Essentials

In college, no one cares what you wear, which allows you to wear basically ANYTHING you choose to. Just know that the majority of all college students choose to wear comfortable clothes and don't dress up as much unless they have to for a sorority or event that day. So keep in mind that you can wear whatever you want and just be yourself.

PLAIN T-SHIRTS:

Whenever I am feeling lazy, but still want to look cute and put together, I always go for a plain t-shirt. I have a few colors but I want my color collection to grow  from grey, maroon, blue, green and black to more neutral colors. These types of shirts allow you to look like you put more effort into your outfit than you did. You can easily pair these with anything; tucked into jeans, leggings, layer with jackets, necklaces and scarfs. Grow a collection of these types of shirts, and you will be glad to have them!

SWEATERS:

The go to clothing item that I see most college students wear are sweatshirts. I wish that I had a lot more sweaters  than I do because they are comfy and keep me warm when the classrooms are always cold. Sweatshirts are perfect but try knit cable sweaters as well. You can pair sweaters by layering them, or better yet add accessories!

BOOTS:

For winter and fall, boots are the most important shoe to wear! I know from experience in where I live that you must have good shoes for the snowy weather. I invested in a pair of uggs and they are my go to boots for most outfits in the fall and winter. Also, a pair of rain boots are also a good idea! You can wear them with a pair of thick socks and it will keep you warm and dry from the snow plus they are cute! I also have invested in a pair of really nice original timberland boots and they are perfect for the winter. They are so on trend and very cute and a perfect addition to your shoe collection. You really don't need to spend a lot of money on shoes! Don't spend money on name brand shoes! Of course you can, but you can also save money by buying cheaper brands.

SNEAKERS:

Honestly, my go to shoes for college are my converse sneakers. These things are so comfy and go with all outfits!  I also have a pair of adidas sneakers I had recently bought this summer that I will definitely be using for casual sporty outfits for sure! I also hope to buy a nice pair of slip on van sneakers because I find them so trendy and perfect for most laid back outfits. You don't need fancy sneakers like expensive nikes or anything. Simple slip on sneakers, converse, vans or just simple sports sneakers work and are comfortable.

LEGGINGS:

Its really bad when I decide to wear leggings pretty much every day to class for a week. However, I legit have like 5 pairs of the same black leggings, and like 6 more different styles of leggings that I can wear. They are so versatile, and super comfy. Try getting plain leggings in navy blue, grey, and black. Try not to get all white leggings because who actually manages to keep their pants white? Not me! I love high waisted leggings because they really extenuate my booty and that's kinda important to me??(LOL) I have the issue of being 4 foot 11 which means I cannot wear normal leggings. I have to wear cropped leggings but they still tend to be too long! Go for a casual pair of leggings from charlotte russe or a cute stylish pair from pink!

FAVORITE PAIR OF JEANS:

I know lots of girls who HATE jeans and go for leggings but, jeans take a super lazy basic outfit from boring to put together and cute real quick. Try a simple pair of ripped jeans and boom. Your all set.

 BOOKBAG:

For a bookbag, I decided to be very very extra this year and go with a new Michael Kors bookbag. Honestly, for college, you don't need anything that fancy. I mean you can easily find a nice big bookbag for under $50! Try finding one with good pockets and a spot for your laptop! Your gonna need a sturdy bag that will hold all those textbooks! Don't go all out like I am because I may regret using that bag but couldn't help since I've been wanting it forever. Literally no one judges what bag you use for school. Some girls even use a big purse if they don't need a big bookbag for the day. Why not! Just know that you will eventually need a big bag for textbooks and laptops.

College fashion doesn't have to be so expensive and over the top fashionable. Overall, just wear what YOU want to wear and be comfortable!
